COURSE LEADER
Mike Raymond, Inkjet Specialist & Meteor Business Development, ttpmeteor, Newark, Delaware, USA
Mr. Raymond has been developing digital printing products throughout his career. Mike has an experienced career that started in digital printing with toner based, laser and electrostatic printing systems for the high speed document processing industry. He got into industrial inkjet when he started a company, Accent Color Sciences, to address the need for color printing on transactional documents. This was utilizing Spectra (Dimatix) printheads and hot-melt wax based ink. The printers were sold under IBM and Xerox brands. Scitex (now Kodak Versamark) subsequently acquired ACS.
At Trident, an ITW Company, Mike was responsible for the development of piezo printheads for the package printing industry. The Trident team moved the technology platform to the next level by doubling nozzle density and adding automated manufacturing processes for piezo printhead manufacturing. As a technology strategist for DuPont, Mike formed strategic relationships with all major printhead manufacturers. He was responsible for evaluation and testing of all major industrial printheads He worked closely with Dimatix, Kyocera, Seiko, Konica, Xaar, Ricoh, Epson, Panasonic, Samsung and Memjet.
At DuPont Mike was assigned as Program Manager, responsible for the Artistri 2020 printer and inks development. After a 2-year development, DuPont launched the product and achieved over 200 installations. Subsequent developments of the 2030 and 2040 printers improved performance to over 250 square meters per hour.
Presently, Mike is a consultative representative working closely with customers to bring the best technology solutions, for their application, with the fastest time to market. He is an expert in on-demand inkjet printhead technology, design and integration. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Hartford and a 6-Sigma Master Blackbelt from Villanova.
